The latter, being second hand cds were unsellable due to the high prices (That is absolutely okay. I am not sure whether the restaurant is still new. I have tried searching for menus and location online but I could not find any at all. It is sandwiched between Thohirah Restaurant and Mad Jack.

The restaurant's setting is similar of that to Mad Jack and customers have the options to dine indoor or al fresco style. They used modern beach furnitures for their outdoor dining which really creates a rustic and laid-back atmosphere. Never have I received anything on a Sunday but because Chinese New Year is around the corner, the postal service company have decided to turn to the weekends to deliver items door-to-door to avoid delays coming up due to the festival and the long holiday periods.

Last December, without thinking twice, I went for the kill to get these 2 rare collector's items upon seeing a post from the The Official Ronnie James Dio Fan Page in Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1148757571954.23822.1618021437&type=1#!/OfficialRonnieJamesDio. I ended up buying an Elf Deluxe Limited Edition Numbered Picture Disc LP for myself and for my boyfriend, a 2XL Ronnie James Dio Memorial T-shirt with the "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll" logo at the back and featured on the front is an intricately sketched picture of Ronnie with the word R.I.P written at the bottom. As for the LP, I got mine at 0132 from a series of 2,500.

The back of the LP that features the whole band looks slightly 3D to me. There are also engravings on each side. The ones on the front has an engraving that reads, "Bob's Your Uncle" and the back as, "Sally's Your Aunt". They are very very interesting indeed. The moment I received the t-shirt, I got it wrapped neatly. I knew that I definitely cannot wait too long for any upcoming special occasions and so I gave it to my dearest as a very surprised gift on the day itself where he least expects it. I went to his music studio in the evening and I hid the gift in a very unlikely place and made him do treasure hunting. It was a very successful plan...Yay! When he saw the gift, how he felt after that was history.

I thought I had splurged my money unnecessarily on these but I realised that I have really made the right choice to invest on these collector's items. I am so grateful having to own these and I am grateful that my dearest, being a big Dio fan, gets to own a piece of Ronnie's t-shirt to himself and for himself to keep. We could still remember that time when Dio passed away from stomach cancer, it was absolutely the saddest day for all of the Heavy Metal community worldwide. R.I.P Dio and thank you so much for all the beautiful music you have made which has really influenced not only the old, but to the young listeners like me : )

So back to these rare stuff, they are only selling 2,500 limited copies of the Elf Deluxe Limited Edition Numbered Picture Disc LPs and the Ronnie James Dio Memorial t-shirts are still available in various sizes in their webstore.

100% of all proceeds from the sale of the t-shirt will go to the Cancer Research Fund.

I think a new webstore is currently in the work and no updates on the new link is given yet though, but you can still get them at http://www.officialronniejamesdiowebstore.com/

Heart - Crazy On You (Studio Version)

A song to play before I go to sleep tonight.

{Oppositional.Style #1}

<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5695665668000087634" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JdvwGsNgWIM/TwsRv4SIflI/AAAAAAAAAWk/ap5GAhT0Cok/s200/P1084523.JPG" style="cursor: hand; It was contributed by Francis Coyote Shivers whom acted as himself in the movie as well. The song came out only during the last part where he performed on stage with Renée Zellweger. As for the movie - amateur you may call it, and their humours might not make sense at times but it is not as nonsensical and dumb as the teen flicks you see today! What is really refreshing was, they showcased alot of young actors/actresses in this movie, who then climb up the ladder to be international stars (read below). Though this movie did not make it as a box office hit, it managed to establish a cult classic status.

Renée Zellweger (Johnny Maguire, Bridget Jones's Diary, etc), Liv Tyler (Lord of the Rings Trilogy, etc), Johnny Whitworth (CSI: Miami & upcoming Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance), Ethan Embry (Can't Hardly Wait with Jennifer Love Hewitt?), Anthony Lapaglia (The Client, Happy Feet 1 & 2, etc), Robin Tunney (The Craft, Prison Break, The Mentalist, etc) and Rory Cochrane (Dazed and Confused, CSI: Miami, 24, Public Enemies, etc)...remember them anyone?

{Another Lovely 2011 Year-End Gift}

Sis just came back from France last week and she gave me this beautiful Ralph Lauren bag. It's a desert/khaki colour hand-carry canvas bag with leather pipings and trimmings. There is also a small pocket on the front with blue, green and yellow stripes on its side which then connects all the way to the handles. At the bottom centre is a blue embroidered Ralph Lauren trademark logo. I no longer go for branded stuff nowadays but because this bag (thankfully) is more of the masculine, messenger type, I am sure the bag is glad that it now belongs to the right owner. And I am also not one of those typical Singaporean girl who carries an LV around. The bag is big and it is definitely not a good idea for work at all but can be used as a light travelling bag instead. My sis bought it in France and so I would not know how much it cost since it is a surprise gift.

{2 Years On...}

Wow, I did not realised that it has been 2 years I never update my blog.

I guess I was too engrossed with work. Not like anyone will read my blog anyway, right?
Hello? Anyone? Anybody there? None at all I guess.

It is 2012 now, the year of the dragon.

Instead of over-relying in updating too much stuff on my Facebook, I think it is better that I make full use of my blog this time around. No point owning a blog if I leave it stagnant. I shall start my freedom of speech in my blog from now onwards.

The start to the new year has been going good so far and I hope that the globe spins slower this time so I don't need to worry about getting old too fast, aye?

I shall start by posting what I have posted in Facebook on the first month of 2012 and on the first week of January.

Remembering the late great Phil Lynott
20 August 1949 - 4 January 1986

Some of us who follows music closely would definitely be familiar with this Irish musician who was the founding member of this prominent Irish rock band, Thin Lizzy.

He also had a very brief stint in the 70's band, Skid Row with the late Gary Moore, Brendan "Brush" Shiels and Noel Bridgeman, a band who originally owned the name Skid Row before Moore sold it to Sebastian Bach for a hefty sum!

Unfortunately, I wasn't born in their era. And Phil's death date? I was born exactly in the year 1986, but in March! And I wasn't gifted with a super memory! But as I grew up, music plays a part in my life and thanks to the people I know, as well as my parent. You know how people back then loved to record anything in a VHS tape, right? My dad still keeps a few of them in the store room and I managed to dig out an old VHS tape containing the documentary of the old Skid Row. I still can't imagine how my dad could ever record this rare gem of a doc on a VHS!

That aside, and coming back to the present time, we realised that, we have already lost, not only Phil Lynott, but Gary Moore as well. Both are great musicians and not to forget the many others too. Rest in Peace to all of these respected musicians.

An Ideal Corporate Gift Recommendation:
Vie De Chats 2012 - L'Agenda - Calendrier

Agenda - Calendrier Vie de Chats 2012 is an agenda cum calendar book in French which is translated as Agenda - Calendar based on the Lives of Cats 2012. It is a hardcover book that my sis gave me for the new year. It consists of dates, days, months and inspirational quotes that are written mostly in French with note sections just like in any other agenda/yearly diary. It is such a sweet, simple and an ideal corporate gift and flipping through each of the adorable editorial photos of those felines are just enough to de-stress your mind off from those pressures you're facing at work. A great recommendation but I am not sure if this is sold in Singapore -_-

You can buy one in this website though:
Excuse The Angst

I’ve been down with the flu sickness these days. I rarely got it but when I do, I really hate going through the sore throat phase. I really hate it so much because, that’s where my asthma’s going to come along easily. And now I've got to use the preventor instead of the normal inhaler! I don’t blame the cold weather at all, but those bringers of disease out there who love to cough or sneeze without even bothering to cover their mouth or nose. Those people just never learn. I hope they die in hell! Heh, sorry for being a bit angsty here : P

By the way, I really looked forward to witness the Leonids Meteor Showers last Wednesday morning that I even went out with my brother to a nearby playground to catch a glimpse of it despite both of us being under the weather with this stupid flu. However, to our dismay, the weather was really cloudy. Even if it’s not, we only see twinkling stars. But as long as we get to stargaze at those beautiful stars, I guess it should be fine for me because the Belt of Orion were just amazingly beautiful to gaze at that time. It really calmed our nerves.

Oh yes, there will be a gig on the 28th November (Saturday). It happened after my shower. I was only clad in my towel, holding my dirty laundry and as I was walking out of my mum’s room, I slipped on the slippery newly-mopped floor sideway, like a goalkeeper, with my left high cheek bone hitting the marble floor first. That’s where a shooting star started to appear, coming right out from the left to the right side of my head. Like my brains shaking from side to side vigorously. After that, I screamed to my hearts content until my mum freaked out. I think my neighbours could hear it too. After that it went alright, like nothing happened. I guess I’m easily immune to pain even if I’ve suffered a concussion from it.

I’m fine being a goalie for street or beach soccer but to be in a goalie’s position while you’re falling down isn’t cool at all because there’s nothing that you can catch except seeing yourself in a pathetic state falling down. I can’t even catch my boobs for goodness sake. How about guys? If they fall, do they even have time to catch their balls? Haha!

You know…I thought I’ll suffer from brain haemorrhage or how I wished I ended up like the super intelligent mental person like Devin Townsend. But nah, that doesn’t happen at all because I still can’t manage to score high for Bejeweled Blitz. of your smile that never fails to soften my heart,
makes me go wobbly and light,
that could even make me fly.

How amazing can that become?!<br great lunch-dinner meal with the lovely peeps above. It's a get-together with a simple celebration which was very worth while. Siti and Peter were our new friends but the way they spent their time with us with all the giggles and jokes, it's as if, they were our old friends.

Holiday Rules...Kia Kia Kia

I'm very glad to have found out that I've passed all of my subjects. I've finally nailed my very last exam papers! My results ranged from Z, B, C and C+. My GPA for this term is 2.76 and attained 115cus altogether. I'm very relieved that it's over though the results are not that satisfying. And hell yeah, no more exam papers for me anymore! I've also completed my NAPFA test too. I won't mention the result here because it sucks damn bad.

My three-year education in polytechnic will soon come to an end but first, I would have to go through a job attachment before I can graduate from school.

Soon, a good pal of mine will be away for a 4-month long attachment to Bangkok. Actually, I was also given that offer but I turned that down because, I just got a lot of things to do here in Singapore. Imagine a person who got their result today, and they will have to get ready to go overseas on the 25th. That's a rush, man!

I've been spending quality time at home these holidays catching up on my hobbies mostly. I also get to learn a new art skill called crocheting from my pro mum which, I didn't know that it's that easy to learn. Before my exams and due to my Major Project, I never had the time to practice my guitar but I have been doing so religiously these holidays. At long last, I'm able to play my favourite song, The Jonah too. This song really tests a person on the fingering skills which, I've been lacking in. It's kind of sad that I'll have to live with a permanently handicapped pinkie. I've been whining about it non-stop but hell, Auji's not supposed to complain but keep on playing guitar no matter what despite the crooked pinkie!

I've been keeping tabs on Rockstar: Supernova reality show these days. Frankly, I'm seriously not a big fan of reality shows but this show boast many multi-talented musicians who wanted to be recognised and rule the throne to become the front man/woman of Supernova.

The last episode has already ended...and geehee...they already got their winner...~Boohoo!

The Only Entry In The Month Of July

Here comes the occasional blogger.

First and foremost, I shall not mention anything about my school life in this entry for now onwards hur hur hur! It'll just spark a headache out of me when I start a topic about it. So, no more mentioning about academic matters, man! I shall declare a ban on it in my blog for now -_-!

Well, I've missed a few good gigs during the last few days. Firstly, I'm supposed to attend Loudfest last Saturday, but didn't, because I went out with my sister and spent time with her at Orchard after not seeing her for quite a long time. And secondly, I didn't go for Metal Godz either because I think it's the Sunday weather that is really a turned-off for the day.

What has happened to me? Somehow, I just feel disconnected to all of these gigs stuff. Maybe it's a long wait for good gigs to come but that long wait makes me even lazier to go if there is one.

Alright, my darling's a botak man already and he looks like...a monk. Hur hur hur! I got to meet up with him last Friday and hanged out with our friends for awhile. We all watched Nacho Libre and it was so hilarious. Firstly, I can't stop laughing at Jack Black's character and his stick-thinned partner, Esqueleto. Secondly, I can't stop laughing at Jack Black in blue tights and red underwear on the outside ala Superman. That beer belly sticking out of it looked awful of course. He looked like Humpty Dumpty. But apart from that, it's his humours that made me laugh like hell throughout the movie and so did the rest of the audiences. The movie lasted within a short duration but I'll rate it 4/5.

This blog's kind of dead and the only thing I can do is change the music. Right now, I chose grunge/punk number called Violet by Hole. Yes, Courtney Love's a nasty girl and a tits-flasher and it sucks but that doesn't stop me from listening to her music. At least she knows how to bring in great music than those angsty MTV-made punk rock bands out there that dressed up like punks but make pop music with BGR-related lyrics. Okay, enough, enough. Let's enjoy the music for now. Next upcoming song might be from Tech 9.

Cheeriosssss!

Art <---- I Might Change This To Something Better. Plus, I took so many pictures, that I simply can't decide which to choose in order for me to put it up here. Well, my mind's kind of slow and I tend to drag it from weeks to weeks till that idea finally struck me. Hehehe. So well, good thing to do is to wait. Most probably I'll resize and display the pictures and let them do the talking in my blog instead of typing the whole essays of it.

I don't frequent my blog that often these days since I'm busy with my final year project.

So as for now, my blog is like a museum of my showcase of artworks. Since I don't always update my blog often, I'll just feature some of my artworks here for you all to see.

Artwork #1

X-Men Code Name: Rogue

This lady has been my favourite character since I started watching X-Men cartoon many years ago. Among the many versions of X-Men, I still prefer her in this suit in X-Men itself. She's strong and not a weakling like that Jean Grey. And I still can't understand why they made Rogue (acted by Anna Paquin) like a weak mutant in the 3 parts of the movie! Well, in my opinion, I'd rather have that beautiful Kate Beckinsale or Angelina Jolie to act as her.

Artwork #2

Rock Till Death

I did this for fun. I really love tie-dye t-shirt.

Well, the two pictures featured above don't appear exactly like the original ones. It looks different whenever I resize it to a small size. Therefore, I would like to apologize if it looked distorted and blur.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://midsummerblackrose.blogspot.com/2006/06/art-i-might-change-this-to-something.html' title='Art <---- I Might Change This To Something Better. And not to forget...there's going to be FIFA World Cup too heehee! But I'm obviously looking forward to the remake of The Omen's "Antichrist" movie.

The last time I watched it was when I was with my darling and the rest of his friends...and all of us overnight at Kathi's house. We had the Omen trilogy night. And most of us ended up dozing off halfway when we came to the 3rd part.

Throughout my growing up days, I could only recall once where they showed "Antichrist" on television. Only ONCE. Maybe twice, maybe thrice. Maybe they've shown it even before I was born. Haha, if I'm not wrong, used to be under SBC that time I assume. And that channel always featured all the best classic horror movies at night. And can you watch that now on Mediacorp channel? Heehee...just a few.

However I'm not sure if the remake of this movie is going to be worth watching.

You remember how they made Exorcist: The Beginning and Amytiville House?

The Exorcist: The Beginning has a good start which was...eerie and mystifying. But the ending was quite bland.

*Whoever got possessed, that ugly facial expression has to follow that of Exorcist.*

At least the possessed beauty from The Exorcism of Emily Rose doesn't follow suit.

Amityville House was good too. There's a few alteration here and there. Didn't look exactly like what people had seen from the original version. Maybe the movie wants us to explore deep into the history of the house and what happens around it. It's not bad but the popularity of the movie faded off from viewers mind very fast, because, to them, there are other great movies to look forward to.

So yeah...to have a remake of an old horror-cult movie really needs a lot of careful planning strategies and hard work in order to pull in many viewers to enjoy that. Sometimes, viewers always prefer classic stuff than new ; )

6th June 2006 (666) will be its release date so yeah, I'm not surprise at that but I'm sure the metalheads, the "metalheads", the troo black metallers, the "black metallers", the Goths, the "Goths" etc etc would surely be waiting forward for it.

And yeah, it is just a movie so I hope no Christians get intimidated by it.

Before I end it all here...

I would like to wish...

Happy Vesak Day...

Happy 28th Birthday Sis...

and Happy Mothers' Day to all the mummies out there!

Where There's Music, There's Fun

Hello there, sorry for the late update. I'm supposed to update on Hellfire Club 2006, but by the time I want to do that now, I've forgotten on mostly what had happened that day.

I'm clueless myself on why I decided to turn up for the gig. It's between wanting to enjoy the music from the bands and meeting friends. I got both and yeah, it's a total fun. A killer mixed gig except for the existence of a few fights and disagreements.

I love those music from the performing bands that day...heavy and some...patriotic. I'm always lost when it comes to band names but I should just give the credits to all of them for making Hellfire Club 2006 a happening gig. I've not been attending mixed gig that often so, this should be the first for the year 2006.

Like Hellfire Club 2005, I attended it after going M.I.A for quite a long time. That time, I'm spotted with a wavy, messy shoulder length hair and wore grey Carcass t-shirt and badly ripped-off jeans which I must say that, it's already R.I.P now due to its bad state. But I still keep it. And comes Hellfire Club 2006, I made another record again by coming with a shorter layered-hairstyle-gone-wrong, wearing grey Terroriser t-shirt and dark blue old ripped-off jeans and yeah, what the hell? That was really my record after being M.I.A again from my girls.

Yup, Sham (nice dreadlocks) did a great job again and thanks for the great Raspatul badge. Wish I had more of that because it's small and cute hahaha! Distros are a killer too. I've got really no idea what I want to buy and ended up buying something not related to music and a Carcass patch. And yep, luckily my neck doesn't ache that badly. And yeah, I saw Nahar too hee hee! Wuah botak already siak! So I shall stop blabbering nonsense now and let those pictures below do the talking. Enjoy!

Inside Substation Guinness

Yup, this was what we did during the early part of the gig.
Thanks to Kaze for taking this picture of us in the Substation hall.

Outside Substation Guinness

Ya ya I resized this picture and it's no wonder that Nadiah's smile looked so crooked ; P

What should I say about this pic? I'm still having my holidays right now. If I know earlier that the holidays are going to be this long, I would have search for a job and start working by now. Life at home during the past days and weeks had been a dull one that I just don't have the mood to blog sometimes. But today's an exception since I've got my timetable : )

School will start next week and this time around, my schedules are even more relaxed compared to previous hectic semesters which gave me a hellish lifestyle. Those days had made me a temperamental person...only my friends knew about this. I don't know what will become of me for this coming semester. Furthermore, I'll be having my Major Project which will due by August. It may sound gay but I'm grouped with 2 wonderful others to come up with a 2D Sudoku game for this Korean brand "PSP"-like gadget.

As for this semester's subject intake, I'm left with only 1 deadly core known as Mobile and Wireless Network Security and Management (MWSM). It's about security, which must have been very perplexing for a human being like me to comprehend. I hope it's manageable. In addition, Communication Skill subject still exist being the only 2-hour class on Friday -_-. I've got 1 stray elective subject stuck in my timetable which I need them to cancel it of as I've accomplished the requirement of 2 electives. As for cross-disciplinary subject, I'm only left with one more to meet the requirement. Therefore, I'll be having 3 subjects in total.

As for time schedule, there will be no class for me on Monday but I’ll still have to come to school to have that elective subject out of my timetable. Tuesday will be from 9 to 6 pm. There will only be a one-hour lecture class at 3pm on Wednesday and one-hour tutorial at 12 noon on Thursday. I hope I’m able to enjoy my poly life this time around :D

Oh yes...below is the Hellfire's online flyer and I'll be coming for this ; )

For All The Lovely People

Song Title: High Flyer
Band: UFO
Album: Force It

High flyers, wailing birds
I'm so far out to sea
Ships are passing every night
Oh, all my boyish dreams

* and your every melody
With the sea tides tossin' free
Never, never holdin' back
Rock and rollers drift by

(instrumental)

Turn to summer, goes so fast
Seems I'll never see you
One weekend and a photograph
Oh, all my boyish dreams

* repeat

I love this song very much. There are many people out there who have heard of this song too.

This sweet song depicts simplicity and it's relaxing and melodious.

According to me, the song's very addictive. It's a slow number that sounded nice when you listen to it, either when you are free, lonely or when you are trying to de-stress yourself.

This song goes to every of the high flyers, who dare to dream and make their dream become true in life and to those who never give up.

Yup, I listened to it when I'm stress during my examination period. It's effective indeed. It really stops you from any negative thoughts and gives you confidence instead.

I love playing the solos. I really wanted to play this song on my guitar and sing at the same time for my boyfriend, but for now, I no longer know when that opportunity may come.

She's Back!

I can't remember how long I've not been online. It's all because of my CPU but I'm glad that everything's alright for now.

Here are a few updates.

Firstly, you can look through the Metal Wars' pictures at the given link below. I've got many pictures of the bands taken during the gig, but I just picked the best 2 to be placed in Photobucket site. I would like to give my due apologies if the pictures taken didn't look that professional.

Metal Wars, 19th March 2006

Secondly, I've updated on one of my pencil sketched human figure by adding colours using paintbrush and airbrush. This is all done using Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9. I posted it at Deviantart site too, under my nickname, Gulgoluth.

Before

After

Second Entry

Here I am again.

Firstly, I would like to apologize for the lack of updates to this new blog. I just got back my CPU today after a few days of maintenance due to a spoilt 512Mb RAM (I think).

Ouh well, below was what happened during the past few days:

Thursday: I've had a new hardware friend of mine, a Brother 4-in-1 USB printer which replaces the Canon Printer that goes wrong for I-don't-know-what reason. I bought it at the recent IT Sales at Suntec City area at an affordable discounted price. Now everything's convenient for me!

Friday: My main examination result was supposed to be released on Saturday but they sent it through sms on Friday instead, and thankfully, I passed all of them though it might not be too satisfying. I took 3 core subjects and attained a B and 2 Cs for it. Got a B for my elective and another B for my CDS. The only subject I got a D+ was my Communication Skills hehe. At first, I doubt I'll pass any of the papers for this semester, but again, it took a different turn and I was given another chance. And now, I'm able to proceed to 3rd year for next semester to do my major project with my other two members. However, I've got a few friends who didn't do quite well for one or two of the core subject papers and I hope they are able to go through the supp paper well this time around and stick together once again for next semester.

Saturday: I went out with my family to Far East Square area. Yeah, it's a boring place but our initial plan was to go to this cool shop which we've been hunting for, that sells cool antique products. My mum and I shared $25 each to purchase a $50 worth of Grandfunk Railroad's Plaribus Funk vinyl record which is fucken rare. I hope to go to that shop again one day to buy the rare Jimi Hendrix, Rainbow, Eagles, another Grandfunk Railroad vinyl, The Patridge Family and The Rolling Stones vinyl with the "Honky-Tonk Woman"'s song in it. If I'm a millionaire, I would have bought everything from there. I'm in love with those antique telephones and those old gramophones.

Last but not least, I need feedback from some of you. It's regarding my new blog. I accessed my blog from my friend's notebook earlier in the afternoon and it appeared so small and is aligned on the extreme left. It's aligned in the centre and it fits just right when it appeared on my desktop computer's screen. Therefore, I need you people to tell me whether it looks alright when it's displayed on your computer. I'm not sure if it's due to the resolution because, mine's at 1024 x 768 pixels. And the font size between my two entries just doesn't balance at all and I don't understand why that happened -.-

So there you have it. I've got no more ideas on what's more to include in this entry. Ciao.

Warm Greetings

Greetings and welcome to my new blog site. This is my first attempt in creating a blog of my own design. Without the help from a few people, it would be impossible to come up with this.
